Responsibilities:
proficient with office phone system and case management system data entry opens, updates and otherwise maintains paper files and electronic records of court cases, including computer entries and physically shelving and pulling files from shelves issues computer-generated notices, documents and related mailings by regular post and electronic mail processes court orders (receives from court, enters orders in case files, and distributes copies as directed) clerks court trials (swears in witnesses, light data entry, sits through trials, collects and keeps track of exhibits) sets hearing dates, prepares dockets in computer enters dispositions in computer accepts mailed and in-person payments, generates receipts from computer, and posts payments of fines and fees in computer, issues payments balances daily payments opens and sorts mail, makes entries as assigned in system delivers and retrieves files to courtrooms and chambers issues and issues legal documents and distributes to appropriate parties files and processes cases and orders of protection researches support and restitution accounts for delinquency receives and/or refers phone calls fulfills requests for record searches and computer queries, copies and other information, including providing information at public counters and sending documents to requesting parties copies and certifies documents as requested prepares and submits publication notices answers questions and provides assistance to public and users of the court assists in the training of new employees knowledgeable and able to perform various duties throughout all divisions of the Circuit Clerk's office performs other duties as required or assigned which fall within the scope of the duties enumerated above This description is intended to indicate the kinds of tasks and levels of difficulty that will be required of positions that will be given this title and shall not be construed as declaring what the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position shall be.
